About RCSCC Admiral Nelles
Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps ADMIRAL NELLES is Brantford’s oldest continually operating Cadet Unit in Brantford, serving youth ages 12 to 18.
The aim of Sea Cadets is to develop in youth the attributes of citizenship and leadership; promote physical fitness and stimulate in youth an interest in the Royal Canadian Navy.
There is no cost to join, no fees or dues – ceremonial uniforms are provided free of charge. Cadets are free to leave the program at any time and are not expected to join the Canadian Forces. Upon withdrawal from the program all issued uniform parts and equipment are expected to be returned to the unit.
Sea Cadets in Brantford are sponsored by the Department of National Defense and the Navy League of Canada – Brantford Branch
Primary Responsibilities of
The Department of National Defense
- Funds training of officers
- Funds 4 mandatory training weekends a year
- Provides uniforms for cadets and officers, with no cost to the cadet or officer.
- Provides funding for some competitions relating to the cadet program including Band and Drill, Sail Regattas, Orienteering and Biathlon competitions.
- Funds Summer Camps, Tall Ship Cruises, Cadet & Naval Deployments on military/civilian vessels and International Exchanges for cadets across the country

RECRUITMENT
We’re looking for Brantford and Brant County youth (male & female) between 12-18 years of age. To be a part of a group that develops youth leadership potential, creating contributing citizens for our community.
HOURS
Monday Nights: 18:30hrs-21:00hrs (6:30pm – 9:00pm)
Thursday Nights: 18:30hrs-21:30hrs (6:30pm – 9:30pm)
