Strive to earn one of these this training year!
Do your best this training year and earn an award either at Annual Inspection or at our awards and promotions night (Thursday) following Annual Inspection.
Captains Award: Awarded to the top cadet in the unit as observed by the CO. Top cadet would hold a high standard of drill, deportment, is an excellent leader amongst peers and subordinates.
Senior Academic Award: Awarded to the senior cadet demonstrating the highest marks/standing in phase IV or V, including classes that are skill based.
Proficiency Awards: Presented to a cadet from each Junior Phase level that demonstrates high knowledge of training, engages/participates well in classes, consistently presents a high level of dress, drill, and deportment.
- Proficiency Award (Phase III): Presented to the phase III cadet (completing phase III training year this year)
- Proficiency (Phase II): Presented to the phase II cadet (completing phase II training year this year)
- Proficiency (Phase I): Presented to the phase I cadet (completing phase I training year this year)
Most Seamanlike: The “Most Seamanlike Cadet” is presented to the member of the Ship’s Company who consistently demonstrates an attitude befitting a Canadian Sailor. This cadet must have a mastery of Naval Knowledge and Seamanship and demonstrates loyalty to the Ship before oneself.
Best Dressed: The Best Dressed Cadet is presented to the cadet from the first three phases of training that consistently demonstrates outstanding personal dress.
Band Brass Section: Presented to the member of the Band’s Brass section who has demonstrated a dedication to their instrument and the Band. (Selected by the Band O)
Band Percussion Section: Presented to the member of the Band’s Brass section who has demonstrated a dedication to their instrument and the Band. (Selected by the Band O)
Most Improved: Presented to the cadet who has bettered themselves throughout the course of the training year in the areas of attitude; training; and dress, drill, and deportment. This cadet should consistently demonstrate a willingness to improve.
Honour Roll: This award is presented to the cadet(s) who have had a successful training year in multiple areas but do not meet the criteria of various other awards.
Top Junior Air Rifle Shot: Presented to the cadet from the first three phases that has achieved the highest score possible during range activities. (Selected by the Range Coach):
Top Senior Air Rifle Shot: Presented to the Senior Cadet that has achieved the highest score possible during range activities. (Selected by the Range Coach)
Perfect Attendance: Presented to the cadet(s) who have attended all mandatory training activities including Training Nights, Remembrance Day, Battle of the Atlantic, and required Poppying and Tag Day Shifts. (Identified by the Administration Officer).
Officers Award: Selected by all cadets to the member of the Adult Staff of their choosing. Recent tradition has shown the Commanding Officer to be exempt from selection.
